Date : Saturday 16th August 2008
Venue: Citybunker Cannon workshops Hertsmere Road, Canary wharf
Time: 7.30pm- 10.30pm (followed by free entry to "The Kings & Queens" party)
Why you should attend:
The challenge of sustainability, quality and effectiveness of political, economic and theological leadership within black communities is one that has been with us for centuries. The purpose of this timely event is to explore the issues surrounding black economic and political leadership and we want you there to tell us what you think.
We want you to join us to explore and address these critically important issues and opportunities for change. With your critical input we want to generate ideas and a discussion document that will prompt wider debate to form the basis of an action plan for change.
This is the first of a series positive thinking debates on these issues, which will draw on the knowledge and determination of existing and emerging leaders within our communities.
Speakers include:
Kurt Barling (BBC News)
Ray Lewis (former Deputy Mayor)
Viv Ahmun (Social Entrepreneur)
Sindy Butts (Deputy Chair Metropolitan Police Authority)
