Dear All:
The members of Tanzania Edinburgh Community Association (TzECA) are delighted and honoured to have another opportunity to arrange hosting to have your company as an Invited Guest to an evening of the 5th December 2008 from 1700 hrs to 0100 hrs for our formal launch event @ Edinburgh Corn Exchange11 Newmarket RoadEdinburghEH14 1RJSome of you will be aware, TzECA existed as an Informal group since June 2002, hence as a voluntary group we are marking a significant step towards achieving our mission to become the centre for excellence as a community based focal point for all Tanzania related interests in Scotland. We will be greatly honoured if you could be part of this evolving great story. We are awaiting some details to confirm final details for our grand TzECA community event, designed to fall within the Tanzania Independence anniversary. As some of you may know so well, Tanzania got her Independence from Britain on December 9th, 1961.This note is for the heads up, and hopefully I can firm up further details in due course. We have penciled down from Thursday 4th December to 5th Friday and we intend to make it a fantastic event where we can all once again come together and you will also meet others from England and other new friends and new stakeholders in Scotland. Among the invited guests, we hope the Tanzania High Commissioner to Britain, HE Hon Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar will crucially be part of this programme, so is some linking/representat ion from the Scottish Parliament, where Scotland former First Minister, Hon Jack McConnell's Office has been helping us on this front. Once firmed up, we will be confirming these and other final details and we will communicate as fast as we possibly can.The venue is likely to be in Edinburgh Scotland, @ the Corn Exchange at The Baron, (the same Children of Songea will be using on the 25th October 2008 - you can google their websites), the same place where we had a splendidly successful and much talked about event (seemingly in nostalgic), which was our first ever TzECA Easter Party 2006! We hope to repeat the same experience with a much improved Tanzania Scotland flavor and style, and hopefully delightful ambiance for all to have a great experience, and more so, hopefully potential future links and opportunities forged for various development initiatives amongst members, guests and at large between Scotland and Tanzania. Why You: We would like you to be part of this great story/development. It is hoped we will pave a way for the establishment of a Networking Forum of Tanzania Scotland representing the Tanzanian voluntary sector from across the UK. The event will hopefully also facilitate establishing closer constructive collaborative ties with Tanzanian businesses and social enterprises over issues such as development, fair-trade and enterprise opportunities between Tanzania and Scotland. The evening will provide food, entertainment, fairtrade information stalls. Feel free to let us know if you have any information or products you will like to show case/promote to the event in a form of either a stall setup, flyers or some presentation during the programme. We don't promise to accommodate everything, but we will do all we can to facilitate. If you are also in a position to facilitate any support/sponsorship we will be happy to hear from you too.Feel free to share this with your contacts/networks as an informal note, pending a formal confirmation/ announcement in due course.-- Kind regards,-----Apollo TemuChairpersonTanzania Edinburgh Community Association (TzECA)Edinburgh(+44 7766176244)
