It is a CAFOD and Caritas food voucher, given to her in Yirol, South Sudan.
She has exchanged it for beans, wheat, vegetable oil and salt. Food that she hopes will keep her family alive.
The UN declared famine in her home area of Unity State, and Ajok’s story is all too familiar; she was forced to flee her home leaving behind all that she has, and is taking care of ten family members.
This emergency food, provided thanks to your donations to the DEC and our East Africa Appeal, really will make the difference between life and death for Ajok and her family – and the thousands of other families we are reaching with aid.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity – you are saving lives.
