Dear good friends of OBV
As many of you are aware, to celebrate OBV's 13th anniversary-16TH July 1996-we launched our own blog. Our principal aim is discuss and tackle issues of concern from a BME perspective. Of course our perspectives are broad and varied but they all start from wanting the very best for our communities. We've asked politicians, activists and many others to share their ideas, and help steer a positive race equality agenda. But there is another key element to all of this , which is you: friends of OBV. The articles on the site are there to stimulate debate and discussion, your involvement-commenting on articles-therefore, will most definitely bring these debates alive. Unlike many blogs that are out there we are pretty sure you won't be abusive, but we do, nevertheless, want you to be challenging. Only then can we effectively gauge what our communities are thinking. For your information this week's big story is about Radio Four: http://operationblackvote.wordpress.com/2009/07/30/great-face-for-radio
We would be interested in your views on this exclusive piece, as well as the blog in general.Last but not least, I'm sure there are some seasoned and already seasoned writers, whilst others are budding commentators. If you've got something to say and would like to write your own article we would very much consider publishing it.
Thank you very much for being part of the OBV family.RegardsSimon-- Ashok ViswanathanAssistant DirectorOperation Black Vote020 8983 543018A Victoria Park SquareLondonE2 9PB
