Subject: Looking for anglophone Africans & British people for a research
project on speaker impressions

Dear all,

I'm looking for people from anglophone Africa & the UK to participate in a PhD
research project on speaker impressions: You listen to 14 soundfiles from
around the world and rate the speakers for different criteria (e.g. How
friendly does the speaker sound to you? How professional? etc.). The entire
survey takes 30-45 mins.
In addition, anglophone Africans are also invited to take part in a short
interview in which you can share your experiences and views regarding
different accents of English.

Where & when?
I will be available in the SOAS main building for the survey & for interviews
during the following times:

Wed 12 March, Room 473, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Wed 19 March, Room 473, 9 a.m. – 12 noon
Tue 25 March, Room 403, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If you’re interested in participating, please send a (very short) e-mail to
speakerimpressions@web.de to let me know at what time you would like to come
by so that I can plan accordingly.
If you’re interested in the project but can’t make it on any of the dates
given, please also send a short e-mail to speakerimpressions@web.de
It is possible to either schedule alternative dates or I can send you an
e-mail version of the survey.

I look forward to hearing from you & your contribution is greatly appreciated!

Johanna
