Dear friends,

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) currently has three openings for interns to work on in our London office on the following campaigns

· Voices of African Women

· Strengthening Women’s Rights.

· Building the Organisation

About half of each intern’s time will be supporting the administrative needs of the organisation. The other half will be spent on the campaign.

1. Voices of African Women campaign will include collaboration with a network of African women and WILPF members to determine campaign priorities, implementing campaigning activities, conducting research on women’s rights in different African countries in preparation for lobbying activities, drafting a periodic newsletter, maintaining a database of contacts coordinating media engagement in collaboration with the communications team and other tasks as required. We are looking for someone with a strong knowledge of African women’s rights and other issues facing African women. African women in particular are encouraged to apply

2. Strengthening Women’s Rights (SWR) campaign will include collaboration with and facilitation of a campaign working group. The SWR campaign focuses its attention on issues such as CEDAW compliance and UN Security Council Resolution 1325. The intern will further the campaign by identifying working priorities and monitoring and disseminating events and news from international and domestic sources. The intern will also develop campaign strategies, build awareness of the SWR campaign with a variety of audiences, produce SWR campaign material and undertake related tasks as agreed with the working group and/or campaign coordinator.

3. Building the Organisation will include collaboration with membership and campaign team to promote current campaigns, develop opportunities to build the membership of UKWILPF, develop our communication strategies and outreach including the website and use of social media, coordinating media engagement in collaboration with the communications team, other tasks as required.

Interested applicants can contact office@ukwilpf.org.uk to obtain an application package, or call 0207 250 1968 for further details.
