here are now just over two months before voters in Greater London go to the polls to elect their Mayor - and it's going to be close.
The Mayoral election comes at a critical time not just for London, but for all of us who need strong leadership for our capital city during these difficult economic times.
If Boris wins on 3rd May, London will again have a Conservative Mayor continuing to invest in Greater London's future.
Under Boris' leadership, crime in London is down, with 1,000 more police officers on the streets by May. He has frozen his share of Council Tax three years running, and will be cutting it this year. He has helped to ensure that Olympic facilities have been delivered on time and under budget. And by working closely together, Boris and the Government are delivering record investment in the capital's transport network andhelping to grow the economy of Greater London and the whole country.
These are major achievements we can be proud of - but the job isn't finished yet. That's why I am asking the whole Conservative Party to Back Boris and help re-elect him as Mayor for another four years.
This election is critical, not just for London, but for the whole country and the whole Party. As London prepares for a momentous year, we cannot put the progress Boris has made at risk. The return of Ken Livingstone would be a return to waste, high taxes and broken promises - no one wants that.
Boris' energy and optimism is truly driving our capital city forward, so let's do all we can to help him win. Hundreds of people around the country are already talking to Londoners to get our message across, and I hope you will feel able to join them by picking up the phone to help Boris win again.
