Madame Tussauds to host Springbok dinner

This year the annual Springbok dinner will take place at the prestigious home of the world’s most famous wax figures – Madame Tussauds on Thursday, November 29. The black tie event will host various members of the Springbok team, who will be in town for their game against the Babar-ians at Twickenham on December 1, 2007.
At last year’s event special guests included Springbok captain John Smit, Percy Montgomery, Os du Randt, Jean de Villiers, Victor Matfield, Bryan Habana plus many more.
Exclusive Springbok memorabilia will be available at the event as well as the chance to meet with the team and its management.
The dinner will take place on Thursday, November 29 at Madame Tussauds in London. Dress code is black tie with the event kicking-off at 6.30pm for 7pm.

YOUNGSTERS were taught about issues surrounding Black History Month through the medium of art at their school in Lodge Park this week.Birmingham-based artist Saranjit Birdi visited Woodfield Middle School in Studley Road on Tuesday (October 16) to help pupils design and create art depicting characteristics from black history, such as slavery and blues.The youngsters are in the process of creating three black history-themed exhibitions which the school hopes to display in Redditch Library or in the Kingfisher Centre.Examples of digital, textile and 2D art will be showcased.A spokesperson for the school said it was a great way for the pupils to learn about the different aspects of black history.Black History Month runs throughout Britain every October and aims to promote knowledge of history, culture and heritage.
