Reaffirming the unity and territorial integrity of Syria, we remain committed to continue working actively to reach a credible, sustainable, and inclusive political solution based on Resolution 2254.  This is the only solution that will bring an end to Syria’s decade long conflict and guarantee the security of the Syrian people and fulfil their aspirations.

ited States and the Holy See:  Partners in Addressing Climate Change and Promoting Human Rights

06/27/2021 08:28 AM EDT

Office of the Spokesperson

Secretary Antony J. Blinken will travel to Vatican City on June 28, where he will meet with Pope Francis and Archbishop Paul Gallagher to discuss efforts to work together to tackle the climate crisis and promote peace and human rights around the world.

The United States Celebrates Strong Relations with the Holy See

  • The United States and Holy See enjoy a close partnership to promote human rights, combat human trafficking and climate change, and seek peaceful solutions to crises around the world.
  • The Holy See maintains formal diplomatic relations with 183 countries. Its influence extends to more than 1.3 billion Catholics worldwide and millions of non-Catholics as well.  With a grassroots presence in almost every country in the world, the Holy See is a critical partner.
  • The Holy See – through Catholic religious orders, lay communities, and faith-based organizations – is among the greatest humanitarian forces in the world.
  • The United States values its cooperation with the Holy See and Catholic organizations on the ground to deliver humanitarian aid successfully and efficiently to individuals and communities in need all around the world. By maintaining and strengthening diplomatic relations with the Holy See, the United States benefits from its unparalleled global presence.

Tackling the Climate Crisis

  • His Holiness Pope Francis has shown longstanding leadership on the imperative to tackle the climate crisis, calling on political leaders and civil society to care for the environment.
  • The United States and Holy See are working together to raise countries’ collective ambition to address the climate crisis, including by raising and implementing national emissions reductions targets.

Promoting Human Rights is a U.S.-Holy See Priority

  • The protection of human rights is a key priority for the United States. The Holy See has long been a global champion of human dignity, and the United States looks forward to working with the Vatican on this issue.
  • The Holy See has a long history of promoting freedom of religion or belief, including through advocacy and interfaith dialogue.

Partnering with the Holy See to Combat Human Trafficking

  • Human trafficking is a threat to international peace and security.  Traffickers undermine the rule of law and violate human dignity, robbing women, children, and men of their freedom.
  • The Holy See and the United States share a common commitment to the fight against human trafficking, and the Holy See is a valued partner in the global effort to prevent this heinous crime.

The Conservative Party

Ayoub,

This weekend the leaders of the most influential and open economies came together to chart a course for building back better from the pandemic.

The UK took the lead on some of the world’s most critical issues - and I believe we have lived up to the most optimistic hopes for this summit.

A week ago, I asked my fellow leaders to help in preparing and providing the doses we need to help vaccinate the whole world by the end of 2022.

And today I am pleased to announce that together we have pledged over 1 billion vaccine doses to the world’s poorest countries.

But Ayoub, this weekend our discussions went far beyond defeating the pandemic.

G7
Watch and Share

The G7 nations and our guest countries looked towards our great global recovery. We were clear that we all need to build back better in a way that delivers for the whole world.

🔬 In the historic Carbis Bay Declaration on health we took concrete steps to ensure the global devastation caused by coronavirus is never repeated.

👧 The G7 agreed to get 40 million more girls into education within the next five years.

🎓 We are helping the Global Partnership for Education – an organisation working to make sure that every child in the world is given the chance of a proper education – reach half of its five-year fundraising goal, including a £430m donation from the UK.

🌍 And we drew up a shared global agenda to build back better together, on crucial issues such as health, climate change, and economic recovery and jobs.

This is a compelling and ambitious plan for the global recovery.

One that Global Britain should be proud to be taking the lead on.

Yours sincerely,

Boris Johnson signature

  • Hey team!

Last week, President Biden announced a National Month of Action to mobilize more Americans to get the protection they need to be safe from COVID-19.

Already, over 63% of U.S. adults have received at least one vaccine dose, and that’s had a huge impact on beating back this virus -- COVID cases have fallen by 90% since January.

It’s going to take all of us organizing in our communities, having conversations with our friends and loved ones, and spreading the word to respond to President Biden’s call to action.

Visit Vaccines.gov to find a vaccination site near you, free child care while you get your shot, or get a free ride to get vaccinated. (And, if you’re already vaccinated, forward this email to your friends and family to share this resource!)

    Jobs growth 📈

Since the Biden-Harris administration took office, more than two million jobs have been created -- an average of 540,000 jobs per month. That’s more jobs created in the first four months of any presidency in history.

We are experiencing a record-breaking economic recovery -- and it is thanks in large part to the American Rescue Plan providing communities with the direct relief and forward-thinking support to build back better.

The long-term unemployment rate has declined the most since 2011 -- that's the American Rescue Plan at work for American families and the American economy. -- Joe Biden

    A conversation with President Obama

    Looking ahead: 2022 Midterm Elections

From flipping the Senate to passing the American Rescue Plan -- we’ve accomplished so much this year. But our work is far from over, and our party is counting on your support.

The GOP is already preparing for the 2022 midterms. At the state level, they’re launching a nationwide attack on voting rights to keep their own constituents from casting their ballots. And at the federal level, they’re doing all they can to prevent Democrats from enacting meaningful legislation.

The only way to prevent Republicans from obstructing our progress is to elect Democrats in every state and ZIP code. The DNC is the sole party committee tasked with doing just that, so anything you can contribute will help build the party infrastructure needed to win in red and blue states alike.

Please, consider making a $25 donation to the DNC today so that our party has the resources it needs to take on the GOP and elect Democrats nationwide.
